Belgrade and Skopje sign an agreement for joint embassies (FYROM news)

Foreign minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic and that of FYROM, Nikola Popovski, signed today in Skopje the agreement to share diplomatic centers.

According to the agreement, the two countries will share their resources as far as diplomatic services are concerned, although it has not yet been made clear as to in which countries will FYROM and Serbia share embassies.

F.Y.R.O.M. PM calls for peaceful protests, violence not tolerated (FYROM news)

F.Y.R.O.M. prime minister called for peaceful protests which will be staged once again on Friday in FYROM against the ruling in the 2012 Smilkovo Lake killings case.

The right of protesting is a democratic one but any violent behavior will not be tolerated, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday at a press conference here.

A new round of rally against the life imprisonment sentenced to six ethnic Albanians for the murder of five FYROM fishermen near Smilkovo Lake in 2012 will be organized on Friday through social network.

NATO Secretary General calls on political leaders in Skopje to continue reform efforts. (FYROM news)

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Thursday (22 May 2014) stressed that the Alliance’s door to new members remains open and urged political leaders in Skopje to strive to find an acceptable solution on the name issue. “NATO’s door is open. As we agreed at the Bucharest NATO Summit in 2008, you will receive an invitation to NATO once a mutually acceptable solution to the name issue is found,” said the Secretary General. “So I urge you to continue your efforts to strive for a solution. The time is now.”

Plevneliev accepts Ivanov’s offer on good neighourly relations agreement between Bulgaria and F.Y.R.O.M.

Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev has written to Gjorge Ivanov, his counterpart in Skopje, accepting his proposal that a 1999 declaration on bilateral relations be transformed into an agreement on good neighbourly relations between Bulgaria and FYROM.

Amid frequently difficult bilateral relations, the issue of formalising a good neighbourliness agreement has been on the agenda between the two countries for years and has been cited as key to Skopje’s stated ambitions of taking the country towards European Union membership.

The head of the Greek diplomacy, Evangelos Venizelos met today (20.02) during his official visit to Skopje the president of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia , George Ivanov.

The meeting was held without the presence of the media and there was no press conference after it.

Presidential elections in FYROM to be held on April 13. -FYROM news

Presidential elections in FYROM will be held on April 13. The decision was signed today by the speaker of parliament, Trajko Veljanovski.


 “The decision for the announcement of the elections will be sent to the State Election Commission, in the quality of an institution responsible for the elections and to the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, stressed Veljanovski. 

According to him, based on the Constitution, presidential elections will be held within 60 days from the expiry of the term in office of the current president.

Cultural Bulgarian Club in Skopje has expressed its concern over the violation of the rights of Bulgarian community in FYROM. This organization assesses that this country is heading toward reyugoslavisation, thus compromising the image of an independent state which is an EU member candidate.

CBC’s declaration comes a day after the desecration of the commemorating plaque of the Bulgarian patriot, Mara Buneva in Skopje.

PM Gruevski: Greece has successfully ruined our image, dialogue resolves the dispute.-FYROM News

Prime Minister of FYRΟΜ, Nikola Gruevski has stressed that efforts have been made in the recent years to strike a deal on the issue of the name dispute, but unfortunately, according to him, the Greek government was not ready to talk about this issue.

“I have personally attempted to contact prime minister of Greece in order to have direct negotiations on this issue and to try and find a solution and overcome the current problems. But in several occasions, he has refused to hold meetings. I believe that this issue can only be solved through dialogue. All such problems in the past have been solved through dialogue. His refusal would not offer positive results”, declared premier Gruevski in an interview for CNN, which has been broadcasted by the government in Skopje.

FYROM PM: Bulgaria Should Resume Constructive Attitude. -FYROM News.

Bulgaria should not leave behind the constructive attitude in its relations with FYROM, argued FYROM PM Nikola Gruevski.

Gruevski spoke to the media after meeting Bulgarian counterpart Plamen Oresharski in Brussels.

"The authorities in Bulgaria must apply in practice the vow of former PM Boyko Borisov that Bulgaria will not be blocking FYROM in its EU bid," said the FYROM PM.

He further commented that the meeting with PM Oresharski went in a constructive tone.

FYROM News: Name is the obstacle for NATO accession.

“The only obstacle for the accession of FYROM in the NATO remains the unresolved name dispute”, declared today in Skopje the assistant Secretary General of NATO, Grabar Kitaroviq, following a meeting with the Minister of Defense of FYROM, Talat Xhaferi.

She added that the invitation remains open until the name dispute is resolved.

“NATO has not been involved in that dispute. That is exclusively a political bilateral issue which must be resolved. NATO doesn’t intervene in domestic politics of the member countries and we will not comment on domestic politics. In this case, we will praise the solution which you will come to with the neighboring country”, declared Grabar Kitarovic.

Η κατάσταση που επικρατεί στη διακομματική επιτροπή η οποία συστήθηκε στα Σκόπια προκειμένου να διερευνηθούν οι συνθήκες υπό τις οποίες ξέσπασαν τα επεισόδια της 24ης Δεκεμβρίου 2012 στη Βουλή της ΠΓΔΜ, θα μπορούσε να καταδείξει είτε ότι υπάρχουν και χειρότερα, είτε ότι υπάρχουν και καλύτερα – όπως το δει κανείς.

Σε σχέση με τις δικές μας εξεταστικές επιτροπές, εννοώ.

Αλλά ας πάρουμε τα πράγματα με τη σειρά και τα συμπεράσματα δικά σας.

Skopje (FYROM) is not expecting anything from the EU Summit

EU General Affairs Committee will approve today in Luxembourg the conclusions for the next Summit of the Council of Europe, which will be held on Thursday and Friday in Brussels. This has been confirmed by Albanian sources within government in Skopje.

EU foreign ministers are expected to talk about the possibility of issuing the date for the start of negotiations for the accession of Serbia and the endorsement of the Association and Stabilization Agreement with Kosovo.

In spite of the four consecutive recommendations issued by the European Commission and European Parliament, FYR Macedonia will not be able to be issued the date for negotiations today, although such proposal is formally part of the agenda.

FYROM NEWS: FYROM Fears Renewed Greek, Bulgarian EU Blockade

FYROM’s overdue date for starting EU accession talks will be discussed when European foreign ministers meet next week, but Skopje fears new Greek and Bulgarian objections.

Europe’s foreign ministers are due to decide at their session on Tuesday whether to ask EU chiefs to set a start date for FYROM’s stalled accession talks at a later meeting of the European Council set for June 27-28.
But the decisive meeting comes amid worries that ministers from neighbouring Greece and Bulgaria could again block FYROM’s progress, this time citing democratic failings in the country.

Σε τουριστική έκθεση στα Σκόπια έλαβε μέρος το ψευδοκράτος ....Είναι η δεύτερη φορά που συμμετάσχει

Σε τουριστική έκθεση των Σκοπίων έλαβε μέρος το ψευδοκράτος της Κύπρου, σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση του λεγόμενου «υπουργείου» τουρισμού, περιβάλλοντος και πολιτισμού.
Όπως μεταδίδεται στα κατεχόμενα, η τουριστική έκθεση έχει τίτλο «Skopje Travel Market 2013» και διεξάγεται μεταξύ 25 και 27 Απριλίου για τρίτη φορά. 


Είναι η δεύτερη φορά που το ψευδοκράτος συμμετέχει στην έκθεση. Στο περίπτερο του ψευδοκράτους, αναφέρεται, διαμοιράζονται φυλλάδια στα αγγλικά και σκοπιανά, ενώ υπάρχουν και παραδοσιακά γλυκά και κεράσματα.

Follow-Up F.Y.R.O.M. 'Name' Talks Agreed

After his visit to the region, the UN mediator in the FYROM ‘name’ talks, Matthew Nimetz, has invited negotiators to a follow-up meeting in New York.

FYROM's representative, Zoran Jolevski and Greece’s Adamantios Vassilakis have agreed to meet the UN mediator on January 29 and 30 at UN headquarters, the UN said.

Nimetz will meet negotiators separately and at a joint discussion to follow up on the discussions that he held last week from January 9-11 in Athens and Skopje.

Bulgarian Ex-Presidents Slam F.Y.R.O.M. Blockade

Three former presidents of Bulgaria have criticized recent moves to oppose setting a start date for EU accession negotiations with FYROM.
The three ex-Presidents made their criticisms known following Tuesday's decision of the European Council for General Affairs.
This adopted a Bulgarian proposal tabled by Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov, delaying giving a start date for talks with FYROM.

UN Mediator Presents New FYROM ‘Name’ Proposals

The UN mediator in the ‘name’ dispute has put forward several suggestions for a compromise name for FYROM in talks in New York - but his ideas have not been made public.
After separate and joint meetings with FYROM’s Zoran Jolevski and Greece’s Adamantios Vassilakis on Monday and Tuesday in New York, Matthew Nimetz said he was willing to come to Skopje and Athens to elaborate his ideas, which have not been released to the public.

F.Y.R.O.M. news: Positive EU Report Awaits FYROM, Fule Says

FYROM has undertaken significant reforms this year as part of its EU accession agenda and can expect a positive progress report, says European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule.
Fule praised the pace of progress in FYROM after speaking on Monday with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and the Vice Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Teuta Arifi.
They met at the third round of “high-level” Skopje-Brussels talks on a reform process that is intended to complement future EU accession negotiations.

“There is no doubt that there was a lot [done] this year, contributing significantly to the reform process,” Fule said, praising Gruevski’s personal effort.

A FYROM 's gay rights organisation announced on Thursday that the first Pride Parade in Skopje would be held next year.
The organisation - the Council of the LGBT United - held a meeting and decided to form a body tasked with organising the first gay pride parade.

According to the organisers, the rally is due to take place in 2013 but the date is yet to be determined.
