FYROM [***] PM To Resign In Bid To End Crisis

The prime minister of the small Balkan nation of FYROM [***] has said he will submit his resignation on January 15 to pave the way for an early parliamentary election under a deal to end months of political uncertainty.

Prime minister Nikola Gruevski, accompanied by a government delegation, is in Turkey for an official visit.

According to the government press statement, the delegation is looking for Turkish investors. Yesterday and today, the delegation is participating in a business forum being held in the city of Kocael.

F.Y.R.O.M. PM calls for peaceful protests, violence not tolerated (FYROM news)

F.Y.R.O.M. prime minister called for peaceful protests which will be staged once again on Friday in FYROM against the ruling in the 2012 Smilkovo Lake killings case.

The right of protesting is a democratic one but any violent behavior will not be tolerated, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday at a press conference here.

A new round of rally against the life imprisonment sentenced to six ethnic Albanians for the murder of five FYROM fishermen near Smilkovo Lake in 2012 will be organized on Friday through social network.

Prime Minister of FYRΟΜ, Nikola Gruevski has stressed that efforts have been made in the recent years to strike a deal on the issue of the name dispute, but unfortunately, according to him, the Greek government was not ready to talk about this issue.

“I have personally attempted to contact prime minister of Greece in order to have direct negotiations on this issue and to try and find a solution and overcome the current problems. But in several occasions, he has refused to hold meetings. I believe that this issue can only be solved through dialogue. All such problems in the past have been solved through dialogue. His refusal would not offer positive results”, declared premier Gruevski in an interview for CNN, which has been broadcasted by the government in Skopje.

Opposition leader in FYROM: Gruevski is mocking the country and EU

Leader of the New Socialdemocrat Party in FYROM (PRSD), Tito Petkovski has accused prime minister Nikola Gruevski of mocking the country and the European Union.

“Macedonia [FYROM] was still in the last carriage of the train that moves toward EU and is still unclear when and if the right destination will be reached. Not only Greece and Bulgaria are an obstacle for us, but also other EU countries. They are now not putting their faith in the potentials of the country for EU accession. I don’t know what more must happen in order for people to realize that Gruevski is mocking with them and EU”, declared Tito Petkovski, one of the leaders of Macedonian [FYROM] united opposition.

FYROM News: Premier Gruevski to meet EU commissioner Fule in Brussels.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who is on a visit in Brussels, will hold a meeting today with EU Enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fule.

European Commission progress report on FYROM, domestic political developments and the solution to the name dispute will be the topics of the meeting between Fule and Gruevski.

Yesterday, Gruevski met with secretary general of the EU Foreign Affairs Service, Pierre Vimont, with the director of EU for Enlargement, Christian Danielsson and with Bulgarian Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski.

FYROM News: FYROM PM Gruevski in Brussels on the progress report and the name dispute.

On Friday, Premier Nikola Gruevski will stay in Brussels in a meeting with the European commissioner for enlargement, Stefan Fule.

The Prime Minister’s cabinet informs that the issue of the name dispute is part of the agenda of talks along with the progress report on FYROM for 2013.

On the other hand, Mr. Fule’s spokesman, Peter Stano said that on Friday, Gruevski will be able to talk about the progress report and on the ways to find a solution to the name dispute.

 Despite the numerous provocations of FYROM against Greece and the continuing propaganda from his country that promotes pseudo-history, FYROM’s PM Nikola Gruevski cynically sent a  letter to his Greek counterpart Lucas Papademos.

In the letter, Nikola Gruevski appeals to the Greek government allegedly to support the recommendation of the European Commission for opening negotiations and adds that is going to create a “positive climate of mutual trust necessary for permanent resolution of the remaining bilateral differences between the two countries”.
