Moscow strongly condemns outside attempts to change regimes in sovereign states. (Sergey Lavrov)
Moscow strongly condemns the attempts to change the regime in sovereign states from the outside, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Rafael Ramirez on Wednesday.
“We strongly condemn the attempts to change the regime in sovereign states by organizing some actions from the outside, either in Cuba, Venezuela or in Russia — or in any European country,” Lavrov said. “The attempts to interfere in internal affairs, use some instruments for stirring up the situation are illegal, they contradict the states’ commitments under international law,” the minister added.

Egypt says Erdogan's UNGA speech 'full of lies and fabrications'
Egypt on Thursday slammed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's
comments at the UN General Assembly, in which he said that President
Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi came to power in a coup.
Speaking to representatives of 193 countries at the annual high-level UN meeting on Wednesday, Erdogan said, "If we are going to defend people who come to power through coups, then I ask the question why we exist as the United Nations." The Turkish leader added that Egypt's former president Mohammed Morsi, ousted in 2013, was removed in a coup. He said that the UN was giving legitimacy to the person who ousted him, in reference to Sissi, the Business Standard reported.

Putin Warns Against Attempts to Destabilize Russia From Within (Security Council meeting on issues of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity)
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that attempts were underway to make the country collapse from within, adding this wouldn’t work with Russians.
“Naturally, such methods are futile in Russia,” the Russian leader said at a meeting of the Russian Security Council.
“Our people, citizens of Russia, will never let it happen and will never accept it,” he stressed, alluding to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The February coup in Kiev and the general turmoil across Ukraine are largely blamed on outsider forces trying to drive a wedge between the two ex- Soviet allies.
The Russian president also cautioned the United States and European Union against the “language of sanctions,” which the West believes to be an adequate response to Moscow’s alleged role in the Ukrainian crisis.

Australia cuts ties with Thailand over military coup
Australia downgraded ties with Thailand on Saturday in the wake of this month's military coup, imposing a travel ban on the junta leaders and cutting defence cooperation in some of the toughest punitive measures taken by a foreign government.
The US and other foreign governments have condemned the May 22 coup, calling for a rapid return to democracy.
The Australian government said it had postponed three activities with the Thai military and would prevent the leaders of the coup from travelling to Australia as it continues to have "grave concerns" about the military's actions in Thailand.
