Reuters journalist missing after Russian strike on hotel in eastern Ukraine

A  member of a Reuters team covering the war in Ukraine was missing and two colleagues were hospitalised after a Russian strike on a hotel where the news agency's group was staying in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, the agency said on Sunday.

Russian Defense Ministry monitoring media misinformation on Russia's operation in Syria

Russia’s Defense Ministry has been monitoring for a week how media "promote someone’s conclusion" that 80% of Russian airstrikes in Syria are allegedly "aimed not at ISIL [Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant - former name of the Islamic State terrorist organization]," the ministry’s official spokesman Igor Konashenkov told journalists on Friday.

EU Postpones Implementation of New Sanctions Against Russia (Reuters)

MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - The European Union has delayed the implementation of a new round of sanctions against Russia pending talks on their possible suspension if the current ceasefire in eastern Ukraine holds, Reuters reported Monday.

According to Reuters, EU envoys are due to meet later on Monday in Brussels to decide "whether the sanctions should be first implemented and then suspended or whether they should not be implemented at all at this stage."

American media refuse meeting Ukrainian servicemen seeking asylum in Russia / Lavrov warns against intentionally hushing up events

American journalists accredited in Russia declined the invitation of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit the Russian-Ukrainian border and meet the Ukrainian servicemen that passed to the territory of Russia. Deputy Head of the ministry’s Department of Information and Press Maria Zakharova wrote this on her Facebook page on Wednesday.

“This story happened the day before yesterday… In the morning, news agencies reported that over 400 Ukrainian servicemen addressed Russian border guards asking for asylum.
