“I perceived information about a new round of sanctions against Russia with bewilderment and big regret,” the head of the upper house of the Russian parliament said.

TULA, September 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is ready to respond if the West whips up the spiral of sanctions, Valentina Matviyenko, Federation Council Speaker, upper house of Russian parliament, said on Monday.
She said any sanctions were counterproductive and mutually disadvantageous and their ultimate goal was “not only to tear Ukraine away from Russia and Russia from the European Union” but also “to weaken the European Union”.
“The United States is securing its geopolitical interests with the Europeans’ hands for there is a fierce competition for markets, economic and financial resources,” Matviyenko said.
She said sanctions were sensitive to any country. “They are sensitive to us too, but they are not dramatic”, she said.

«Θέατρο του παραλόγου» χαρακτήρισε τις κυρώσεις κατά της Ρωσίας που επέβαλε η Αυστραλία η πρόεδρος του Ομοσπονδιακού Συμβουλίου της Ρωσίας Βαλεντίνα Ματβιένκο, υπογραμμίζοντας ότι η Ρωσία καταβάλλει κάθε δυνατή προσπάθεια για την επίλυση της πολιτικής κρίσης της Ουκρανίας.

«Τα ονόματα αυτών που προκάλεσαν την πολιτική κρίση, δημιούργησαν τα προβλήματα και έσυραν τη χώρα σε εμφύλιο πόλεμο είναι γνωστά. Όμως δεν περιλαμβάνονται στις λίστες των κυρώσεων» ανέφερε η Ματβιένκο και πρόσθεσε:

Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of Russia’s Federation Council upper parliament house, said on Friday she never conceded that Russian armed forces could be used in Ukraine’s southeastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“I don’t even look at this scenario and don’t concede it, since from the very beginning Russia’s position has been clear and transparent - actual ways out of this political crisis can be found only in a nationwide dialogue in Ukraine,” she told journalists on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Russia, in her words, had been calling for such dialogue.

Ούτε η Αμπχαζία, ούτε η Νότια Οσετία, ούτε η Υπερδνειστερία  έχουν κάνει καμία αίτηση προσχώρησης στη Ρωσία, δήλωσε η Βαλεντίνα Ματβιένκο, το Σάββατο, 22 Μαρτίου, η πρόεδρος του Συμβουλίου της Ομοσπονδίας (άνω βουλή του ρωσικού κοινοβουλίου).
"Δεν έχουμε λάβει οποιαδήποτε έκκληση από αυτούς και δεν θα ήταν σκόπιμο να συζητήσουμε αυτό το θέμα τώρα", είπε η Βαλεντίνα Ματβιένκο στο Nedelya Ren - TV.
