Finland is exploring the possibility of installing anti-tank obstacles along its border with Russia, Bloomberg reports, citing the commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.
"Finland is considering the construction of anti-tank barriers, modeled on those used in Ukraine, to strengthen its border with Russia," the agency reports.
According to Bloomberg, the measures would involve fortifications and anti-tank ditches. However, as Välimäki noted, their suitability for Finland’s specific weather conditions has yet to be tested.
The military commander noted the importance of establishing an uninterrupted supply chain for troops in the event of a protracted confrontation.
