US Navy helicopter may have crashed off Saudi coast

A US Navy MH-60R Seahawk combat helicopter sent a distress signal off the coast of Saudi Arabia and then disappeared from flight-tracking platforms, BNO News reported.

According to the portal, the helicopter was flying at an altitude of about 475 feet when it declared an emergency. Its displayed altitude then dropped to zero, and the aircraft disappeared from radar.

Social media reports suggest that the helicopter may have crashed into the Red Sea, the portal noted.

The US Navy has yet to comment on the incident or disclose what prompted the emergency declaration.
