The U.S. will not attack Iran on October 25, President Donald Trump stated while speaking with reporters.
"I don't want to... but I'll tell you. The answer is no. There will be no attack today," he asserted.
The statement comes amid the threat of an escalation in the region.
On October 23, the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack, admitted that Washington could "absolutely" launch an attack against Iran this weekend. For his part, Trump responded by saying he knows "nothing about it."
