Several countries issue warnings regarding flights to Saudi Arabia amid Houthi attacks

Several countries have warned their citizens about the risks of traveling to Saudi Arabia amid an increase in attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, CNBC reports.

"A risk remains for other airports and infrastructure throughout Saudi Arabia. If you must travel, you might want to consider traveling by land to or from other regional hubs," the New Zealand Embassy in the Kingdom advised.

For its part, the Australian diplomatic mission recommended traveling from Riyadh airport only if the flight has been reconfirmed. "Before traveling by air, land, or sea, check the status of border crossings and transport routes, as they may change or close without notice," the issued statement reads.

These warnings follow those issued by the United Kingdom, the US, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and other countries after the Houthis launched two attacks on King Khalid Airport, killing three Saudi citizens and injuring several people of various nationalities.
