Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson accused the new occupant of 10 Downing Street, Andy Burnham, of lying following his statement regarding alleged Russian interference in the Brexit referendum.
"That is simply not true. As soon as I became Foreign Secretary, I asked the intelligence agencies the same question, and they replied that there was no evidence of successful interference by Russia, or any other country, in the 2016 referendum."
Either the intelligence agencies have changed their assessment, which would be very strange, or Burnham is lying about the information he was provided with. After all, Starmer has been in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information.
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson refuted the claim by current Prime Minister Burnham that Russia had allegedly interfered in the Brexit referendum.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Johnson, he had instructed the intelligence services to investigate the matter, and they concluded that no evidence of such interference was found.
