Houthis claim new attack on Riyadh airport

Houthi spokesman has claimed a “precise” strike on the King Khalid International airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

In a statement on X, Yahya Saree said Houthi forces launched a ballistic missile attack on the airport. He also claimed several drone attacks on crude oil pumping stations in the east and west of the country.

The statement came hours after Saudi forces announced intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said it retaliated with attacks on two missile launches in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

The Houthis also claimed attacks on the King Khalid International airport on Sunday, as well as on the King Khalid airbase in Khamis Mushait and a naval base in Jazan.

The Houthis had accused the Saudi-led coalition of carrying out at least 56 air strikes on Yemen in the previous 24 hours, including in the provinces of Hodeidah, Lahij, Amran, Saada, al-Jawf, Taiz, and Ibb.
