Forty Paris Metro stations will be closed on Saturday, October 31, due to anticipated mass protests, the Paris public transport authority has announced.
For the third consecutive Saturday, nationwide demonstrations against the rising cost of living will take place across France. Both labor unions and representatives of the "Yellow Vests" protest movement have called on people to join the events.
A wave of protests began in mid-September, when high school students in the Paris suburbs took to the streets to demand better conditions in their schools.
They were later joined by people unhappy with rising prices, and the demonstrations spread to other regions of the country.
