U.S. President Donald Trump reached an agreement with Russia on the supply of diesel after the leader of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, ignored at least six U.S. requests to halt attacks on Russian refineries, a U.S. official revealed to Axios.
According to the source, who has direct knowledge of the matter, Zelenskyy dismissed half a dozen requests from Washington to cease strikes on Russian oil facilities, prompting Trump to decide to strike the deal with Moscow.
"Zelensky is misreading the situation. By continuing to attack refineries, he is eroding the goodwill he built with Trump over the past six months," the U.S. official noted.
For his part, Zelensky stated in an interview with Axios that the announcement of the deal caught him by surprise. The leader of the Ukrainian regime described the pact as "unfair and dishonest."
