Trump intends to sign the "hellish sanctions" bill against Russia — WSJ

The document empowers the president to impose sanctions on Russian individuals and entities, as well as tariffs of up to 100% on major buyers of Russian oil and gas, including China and India.

 A 500% tariff is stipulated for Russian exports to the US.

Restrictions may also target Russian LNG and Arctic energy projects, the "shadow fleet," the Central Bank, Sberbank, VTB, and Gazprombank, while personal sanctions are envisaged against Vladimir Putin and a number of Russian officials. 

  Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the U.S. House of Representatives' approval of a new bill imposing "hellish" anti-Russian sanctions, spearheaded by the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, as a "hostile act."

"We are monitoring the progress of this document. It falls into the category of hostile actions," he stated. 

The spokesman warned that "the imposition of additional sanctions by the U.S. will undoubtedly complicate efforts to reach a peaceful solution in Ukraine."
