The Hungarian parliament voted to suspend the parliamentary immunity of Prime Minister Magyar

On September 22, the Hungarian Prosecutor's Office submitted a request to parliament to strip Péter Magyar of his immunity due to allegations that he stole a mobile phone from another person.

According to the prosecution, the incident took place in 2024 at a club in Budapest. Magyar got into an argument with a patron who was filming him, snatched the person's smartphone, and threw it into the river.

Magyar himself has stated that he is willing to give up his immunity in order to draw attention to crimes committed by other members of parliament.
