China ‘strongly condemns’ killing of Khamenei

Beijing denounced the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes and called for an end of military operations in the Middle East.

“The attack and killing of Iran’s supreme leader is a grave violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security,” the Chinese government said in a statement Sunday.

“China firmly opposes and strongly condemns it,” it said.
