MEPs slam EU member states for stalled relocation of refugees

Members of European Parliament (MEPs) have condemned a lack of action from European Union (EU) member states in relocation of 160,000 refugees in a resolution adopted Thursday in Strasbourg.

Greece’s overstretched reception centres may imperil EU-wide plan as arrivals hit half million mark – UN

UN, 20 October 2015 – As the number of refugee and migrant arrivals in Greece hits half a million, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has warned today of continuing “chaos” at overburdened reception centres – possibly threatening to undo Europe’s recently-agreed relocation programme – unless reception conditions in frontline islands are improved.

UN Calls for Mass Migrant Relocation Program

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has called on the European Union to admit up to 200,000 refugees for a "mass relocation program" to ease the flood of migrants appearing at EU borders looking for shelter.
