Saudi Embassy in Vienna warns about Austria's face cover ban

The Saudi Embassy in Vienna is alerting its citizens to recent Austrian legislation banning face covers in public and is calling on them to observe the law.

The Bavarian branch of the Christian democratic Union, the ruling party of Germany, require tightening of the immigration act by including the following items: preference to immigrant Christians to Muslims; a ban on the niqab – the traditional garb of Muslim women, covering the face; a rejection of dual citizenship; compulsory study of German language and reducing the number of those who claim to refugee status, up to 200,000 people a year.
