Small tsunami waves detected after strong quake in eastern Indonesia
Very small tsunami waves were detected in two places in eastern
Indonesia following a powerful 7. 3-magnitude quake on Saturday,
indicating there was no serious tsunami threat, officials of Meteorology

JAKARTA: A powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake rocked
the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia Saturday (Nov 15), sparking a
tsunami warning for areas up to 300km away and causing panicked people
to flee their homes.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage after the undersea quake struck at a depth of 46km northwest of Kota Ternate, a town in the Malukus, at 10.31am (Singapore time), the US Geological Survey said.
