Israel offers Italy 'whatever it needs' in aftermath of quake

State of emergency in Italian quake-hit areas. Officials say the situation is not “catastrophic”.

2 powerful quakes, 5.5 and 6.1 magnitude, strike central Italy, tremors felt in Rome (local time: 21:18 Depth 20 km)
A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the Marche region in central Italy, just hours after a 5.4-magnitude temblor damaged buildings and cut power lines across the area. Buildings across the region have been damaged, but so far, there have been no reports of fatalities.

Russia offers Italy help dealing with quake aftermath
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi over the human losses as a result of a devastating earthquake in the country’s central regions, the Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck central Italy, leaving at least two people dead and others trapped under rubble, Italian officials said.(local time: 03:36, Depth 4 km)
The quake hit at 03:36 (01:36 GMT), 76 km (47 miles) southeast of the city of Perugia, at the very shallow depth of 10km (six miles), the USGS said.
