«Αντίθετες στο ευρωπαϊκό πνεύμα, οι διεκδικήσεις της Ελλάδας» (Guy Verhofstadt)

Την εκτίμηση ότι οι διεκδικήσεις της Ελλάδας σχετικά με το κατοχικό δάνειο και τις γερμανικές αποζημιώσεις είναι αντίθετες προς το ευρωπαϊκό πνεύμα, εξέφρασε ο πρόεδρος των Φιλελευθέρων στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο Γκι Φερχόφστατ.

On returning from Rome yesterday evening, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Joachim Gauck.

Mr. Venizelos briefed Mr. Gauck on the state of the Greek economy, mentioned the various negative and unfair stereotypes being perpetuated by a portion of the German news media regarding Greece, and emphasized the close Greek-German cooperation within the framework of the Eurozone and the adjustment programme of the Greek economy. In particular, he stressed the Greek people’s sacrifices and achievements – the most salient of which being the primary surplus that has already been achieved – the structural changes, as well as the unique and special characteristics that render the Greek public debt sustainable in the long term.

Γερμανική απόρριψη του αιτήματος περί πολεμικών αποζημιώσεων μέσω BBC

Αδυναμία κατανόησης των ενεργειών της ελληνικής κυβέρνησης στο θέμα των πολεμικών αποζημιώσεων δηλώνει στο BBC ο εκπρόσωπος για θέματα εξωτερικής πολιτικής του Χριστιανοδημοκρατικού Κόμματος της Άνγκελα Μέρκελ, Φίλιπ Μισφέλντερ.
Ο κ. Μισφέλντερ διερωτάται γιατί η Ελλάδα δεν επιχείρησε να διαπραγματευτεί το θέμα όταν εντασσόταν στην ευρωζώνη «εξαπατώντας» την Ε.Ε. και την ΕΚΤ, αναφερόμενος σε παρουσίαση ψευδών οικονομικών στοιχείων από την Αθήνα.

In diesem September werde ich 91 Jahre alt. Ich beginne, diesen Text zu schreiben, auf den Tag genau 72 Jahre, nachdem ich die Deutschen in Athen einmarschieren sah, voll bewaffnet, mit Motorrädern und Autos. Es war der 27. April 1941. Die meisten Leser der "Welt" waren damals noch nicht geboren. Aber ich war schon 19 Jahre alt. Ich habe daher keine Zeit für Lügen oder Halbwahrheiten.
