Slovakia Asks EU to Cut Sanctions Against Russia

PRAGUE, September 5 (RIA Novosti) – Slovakia speaks against some sanctions against Russia, proposed by the European Union, according to the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

“We have addressed the EU, asking them to remove some clauses from the sanctions proposal. We want a number of products included in the list to be exempt from sanctions, so that we can continue exporting them to Russia,” Fico said during press conference after a special meeting dedicated to the discussion of new EU sanctions against Russia.

Czech president speaks against new anti-Russian sanctions.(If it is unambiguously proven that Russia sent its combat troops to the east of Ukraine)

PRAGUE, September 02. /ITAR-TASS/. A new package of sanctions against Russia should be adopted only if the West is able to prove claims that Russian troops are deployed in Ukraine, Czech President Milos Zeman said during his visit to the country’s parliament Tuesday.

“Sanctions will only be possible if it is unambiguously proven that Russia sent its combat troops to the east of Ukraine,” Zeman said. “Had the invasion occurred, I would support tougher sanctions. But if there was none, I would speak for no sanctions at all but for the start of talks resulting in a truce.”

Cyprus Czecked...

By Marios Leonida Evriviades
What happened to Cyprus in the early hours of March 25 and in the lead up meeting of March 15 in Brussels, the headquarters of the European Union, was qualitatively no different than what happened to Czechoslovakia on September 29 1938 in Munich of Nazi-controlled Germany.
In both cases a small independent, sovereign state was bullied into accepting a diktat – in the case of Czechoslovakia the loss of about a third of its territory to Nazi Germany. And in the case of Cyprus the virtual destruction of its   economy for the benefit of the German dominated eurozone.
In both cases Western Governments, democratic governments it should be emphasized, did not only stand by. They actually cheered the results and praised the bully-in-chief.
