German Media Claim Alleged Russian Spy At German Intelligence Leaked Data On Ukraine

A member of the German foreign intelligence agency BND, arrested last week on suspicion of passing secrets to Russia, allegedly shared classified data about the situation in Ukraine, German regional broadcasters NDR and WDR reported on Monday.

Germany ‘spied’ on French foreign minister

Germany’s BND foreign intelligence service spied on French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, as well as on a German diplomat in a possible violation of the country’s constitution, a German radio station reported on Wednesday.

German Foreign Ministry Says Media Interpretation of Boeing Crash in Ukraine Incomplete

Berlin believes mass media’s interpretation of Germany’s report of the Malaysian Boeing crash in eastern Ukraine is incomplete and taken out of context, according to a diplomatic note sent to the Russian Embassy in Berlin.

 

“The interpretations in the press of a report by the president of the Federal Investigative Service [of Germany] to the Parliament committee on control of the special service’s activity dated October 8 of this year is incomplete and arbitrarily taken out of context,” the diplomatic note reads.

German Intelligence Agency Chief Says Kiev Falsified Data on MH17 Crash

Germany's foreign intelligence service, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), has found that some of the evidence on the MH17 crash provided by Kiev had been falsified, Der Spiegel reported Sunday.

Photographic evidence provided by Ukraine on the crash had been manipulated and "there are details indicating this", the newspaper wrote, citing BND President Gerhard Schindler.

Germany expels US intelligence chief over spying claims

Germany has expelled the US intelligence station chief in Berlin over alleged spying by Washington.

Government spokesman Steffen Seibert said: "The representative of the US intelligence services at the embassy of the United States of America has been told to leave Germany."

He said the move is related to investigations into the activities of the US intelligence services in Germany.

Germany urges US explanation (Suspected double agent further strains two countries’ ties)

The German government wants a quick and clear explanation from Washington for US intelligence's apparent contact with a German man arrested last week on suspicion of being a double agent, the interior minister said in a newspaper interview.

"I expect everyone to cooperate promptly to clear up these allegations - with quick and clear comments from the United States as well," Thomas de Maiziere told Bild newspaper, according to excerpts of its Monday edition.
