Trump doesn't intend to resume strikes against Iran right after midterm elections — Axios

US President Donald Trump does not intend at this stage to resume military action against Iran immediately following the midterm Congressional elections scheduled for November 3, the US news outlet Axios reported.

According to its sources, Trump had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday. They discussed "the state of U.S. negotiations with Iran and how quickly to return to combat," Axios wrote referring to one Israeli and one U.S. source.

The outlet reported that "Netanyahu is pressing Trump to strike Iran immediately after the midterm elections on Tuesday. But Trump, for now, wants to let negotiations play out — a strategy Netanyahu is concerned about."

An Israeli source called the conversation "tough," while a US official described it as "direct."
