Three Ukrainians were charged with organizing slave labor and human trafficking in Poland

The victims arrived in the city of Radom via Spain, fleeing Colombian drug cartels. There, the defendants confiscated their passports and money, forced them to work with only one 15-minute break per day, and prevented them from leaving the hostel. Their “wages” amounted to 1,500 zlotys,  approximately €350  per month.

The workers were beaten and threatened,  a box of meat was thrown onto one man’s foot, and a pregnant woman was forced to work despite health issues, according to the portal Radom24.

Three Ukrainian citizens and an employee of a local employment agency responsible for recruitment appeared in court. None of them admitted guilt or agreed to give testimony. They face a sentence of three to 20 years in prison.
