Russian diesel fuel continues to reach European markets, despite the existing ban on the purchase of petroleum products from the Russian Federation as was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on November 1.
Addressing a question about the possibility of European consumers purchasing Russian gas via third countries, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the situation in the liquid fuel market as an example. He confirmed that Russian products are indeed being identified in Europe, albeit under different brands.
As European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen noted on October 28, high diesel prices in Europe could persist until 2027, which will continue to exert pressure on European companies and households.
