According to the newspaper, EU member states oppose using peace talks on Ukraine to discuss a new security architecture, and they fear that the Donald Trump administration might strike a deal with Russia to the detriment of European security.
A European Commission representative, cited by the publication, emphasized that decisions regarding issues affecting the European Union’s security must be made by the European Union itself.
Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, speaking at a press conference in Warsaw, also affirmed that Brussels has no intention of discussing the European security architecture with Russia and the United States.
