Democratic majority ‘must end this disastrous war’, Bernie Sanders says

Progressive US Senator Bernie Sanders says ending the war on Iran and cutting off funding for Israel should be top priorities for the newly elected Democratic majority.

“Trump has dragged us into an illegal and unconstitutional war in Iran that will cost hundreds of billions of dollars,” Sanders said in a video address. “We must end this disastrous war.”

Turning to Israel’s war on Gaza, he said Democrats “must cut off all funding for the genocidal government in Israel” and “substantially reduce military suspending”.

Sanders was the first US senator to call the Israeli attack on Gaza a genocide last year following several members of the House.
