Two ballistic missiles strike area near Aden International Airport

Initial reports claim one of the two missiles targeted a unit of the Saudi-led coalition at the Badr Centre, but we do not have confirmation of that.

The missiles were likely fired from neighboring governorates under the control of the Houthi group.

Local witnesses say the other missile hit close to the airport’s runway. The explosions were heard all the way from the outskirts of Aden, with interceptor fire heard after the impacts.

Yemen’s Transport Ministry says Houthi forces targeted Aden International Airport early on Wednesday with two ballistic missiles and several explosive-laden drones.

The ministry said one missile landed near the runway “minutes” before Yemenia flight 603 from Cairo was due to land, prompting authorities to divert the aircraft to Jeddah.
