U.S. President Donald Trump stated this Monday, October 19, during a rally in Kansas, that to see "what is at stake" in the election, one only needs to look at what is happening in France, a country he described as having "once been great" but now "conquered, pillaged, and set on fire."
Trump maintained that France is under attack by "migrants, jihadists, and communists" who, he claimed, "hate Christianity and Western civilization." He also stated that left-wing "globalist" politicians have brought in millions of migrants whose values are "incompatible with Western values."
"Europe must close its borders" and remove those who "hate" its countries, Trump declared, asserting that these immigrants do not love France—nor its people, its art, or its architecture. He added that he had told French President Emmanuel Macron to "close the border, or it will be the end of France."
The former president remarked that witnessing "burning church steeples and raging fires"—as seen in France—is exactly what radical "Dumocrats" (a portmanteau of "dumb" and "Democrats") would like to see happen in the United States. He further characterized them as a party of "anti-Western Marxists" and "hostile migrants from the Third World."
