US President Donald Trump said Monday he plans to pay $1 million to anyone reporting voter fraud in past elections or the upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 3, provided the information leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
"Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!" Trump said on Truth Social.
The announcement comes as the US prepares to hold midterm elections next week, with voters to decide which party controls Congress amid heightened political disputes over election integrity.
The U.S. midterm elections on November 3 could shift the balance of power and determine who will control Congress during the final two years of Trump’s term.
Currently, the Republicans hold 218 seats to the Democrats’ 214 in the House of Representatives, and 53 seats to the Democrats’ 47 in the Senate; therefore, the Democrats need to gain four additional seats in each chamber to overturn those majorities.
