Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey slam Israel, call for end to Houthi attacks

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan, known as the R4 Group, on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace in the region. Blaming Israel for instability and calling for an end to Iran-backed Houthi attacks.

During the meeting in Istanbul, the ministers emphasized that the Israeli occupation remains a fundamental source of regional instability.

They reiterated their support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and called for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They also urged the implementation of the two-state solution in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.

The ministers expressed serious concern over ongoing violence against Palestinians, settlement expansion in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and attempts to alter the historical and legal status of Jerusalem.

On Yemen, the ministers strongly condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, civilian infrastructure and commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb. They called for an immediate cessation of attacks and urged a return to the political process, expressing solidarity with the Yemeni government and Saudi Arabia.

As for the US-Israel war on Iran, the ministers said that dialogue and diplomacy was needed to prevent further escalation.
