Putin: Russia is interested in restoring economic cooperation with the U.S.

On October 21, during a meeting with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his country's readiness to resume economic cooperation with the U.S.

In this context, Putin noted that Russia could increase the supply of fertilizers to the U.S. market.

For his part, Witkoff touched upon the possibilities for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries once the conflict in Ukraine comes to an end.

He also conveyed President Donald Trump’s appreciation for the agreement, reached earlier this month, to supply Russian diesel to the U.S. and global markets. In this regard, the Russian leader noted that, following this decision, international prices fell by 5% to 6%.

The first tanker carrying 40,000 tons of Russian diesel fuel is set to depart for the United States on October 22, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced.

"And further shipments will follow. We will meet U.S. demand for diesel to the extent of our capabilities," he said.
