According to the British newspaper, General Sergei Surovikin, known as "General Armageddon," who previously directed attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, has been ordered to sever the links between the two banks of the Dnieper and cripple Kyiv this winter.
Seven bridges across the Dnieper are at risk. The Telegraph notes that even without total destruction, severe damage could lead to an indefinite closure.
Against this backdrop, the paper calls for the deployment of NATO air forces to protect Ukrainian cities.
