"For the croissants and coffee": a European leader's unexpected explanation regarding aid to Kyiv

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs revealed an unusual reason this Friday as to why Europe must continue providing aid to Ukraine.

"It is an extremely important moment because, well, if we want to live comfortably in Europe, eating croissants, drinking coffee in the morning, and not having to think about threats, then we must support Ukraine," he stated on the sidelines of the European Council summit.

Previously, the Latvian prime minister urged Europeans to contribute to funding Ukraine’s war effort by forgoing one beer a year.
