US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that economic measures against Iran will continue and those providing financial support to Iran will be targeted.
“Under Operation Economic Outcast, Treasury will continue to target and disrupt those who provide material, technological or financial support that allows the Iranian regime to sustain its terrorist enterprise,” Bessent said in a Treasury Department statement.
“Treasury will not tolerate any support to the regime and will continue to identify, expose and isolate Iran’s enablers.”

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla stated that the new package of sanctions imposed by the United States seeks to "hinder" the economic reform process underway on the island, amidst mounting pressure from Washington.
