Two Iranian tankers have been struck off Kharg Island, while a third was hit near Jask

An Iranian retaliatory response is expected within the next few hours.

A small Iranian oil tanker was targeted by a missile attack from U.S. military forces, according to a report by the Tasnim news agency.

According to the report, the tanker was located four nautical miles off the Iranian island of Kharg when it was struck by a projectile fired by U.S. forces near the island's anchorage.

Separately, Iran's Fars News Agency reported that the sound of an explosion was heard in Jask, a port city on the Gulf of Oman.

"At around 21:45 tonight, explosions were heard in Jask city. The explosion occurred in two stages, a short distance apart," Fars news agency reported.

Iranian authorities did not immediately provide details on what caused the reported blasts or whether they resulted in casualties or material damage.

Meanwhile, the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Ali Abdollahi, on Tuesday warned Tehran would attack U.S. bases in the region if Iranian oil tankers were hit.

  3. The Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued an "urgent" warning to oil tankers near two Gulf nations, labeling them "accomplices" to U.S. aggression.

"In light of the malicious actions by the terrorist U.S. military in attacking several oil tankers belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran, we warn all tanker crews in the ports of Kuwait and Bahrain—countries that harbor these terrorists and are complicit in their evil acts—to immediately abandon their vessels, whether anchored or in port, as they will be targeted for attack," the message reads.

The statement says the warning comes in response to U.S. attacks on several Iranian vessels and accuses those managing the tankers of being “partners” in the U.S. attacks.
