Poland strengthens Ukraine border security amid Russian attacks, deploying army units

Poland is strengthening security at border crossings and infrastructure near Ukraine following a series of Russian attacks, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said Tuesday.

The security measures will include the deployment of Poland’s 18th Pontoon Bridge Regiment to reinforce infrastructure used by the Border Guard, RBC Ukraine reported.

“The past few days have shown that Russia's actions threaten the security of all of Europe,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said. He added that the government had decided to strengthen infrastructure used by border authorities.

It is reported that a Polish army engineering regiment is constructing defensive infrastructure, and observation and security posts are being set up near the Dorohusk, Medyka, and Korczowa border crossings.
