The volatile issue of gasoline prices is causing concern at the highest levels of the French government, reports "Le Figaro".
Government spokesperson Maud Bregeon stated that approximately 10% of service stations, the vast majority of which belong to the TotalEnergies chain, are facing supply difficulties regarding "at least one type of fuel."
"Le Figaro" notes that the sharp rise in fuel prices has sparked calls for protests, drawing parallels to the "Yellow Vests" movement, which emerged in November 2019, also driven by rising fuel costs, and to blockades of oil depots by fishermen in the Mediterranean.
