On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 tragedy, glowing outlines of the Twin Towers appeared in the night sky over New York. A total of 2,977 drones formed the full height of the buildings—matching the exact number of people who lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Beside these "ghost" towers, a giant beam of light—a traditional memorial installation—shot up into the sky. The New York Post reported on the event.
As a reminder, on September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked airplanes and flew them into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.
