"I’ve had good conversations with him [Russian President Vladimir Putin]. He is not going to attack NATO territory," US President Donald Trump told reporters.
Earlier, the US leader denied reports to national media outlets claiming that the recent visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe —to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Naryshkin—was intended to warn Russia against attacking any NATO country.
Trump stated that Ratcliffe had not conveyed such a warning and added that he is not concerned about the possibility of a Russian attack on the alliance's territory.
"I’m not worried... at all. There is no problem," Trump maintained.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia has no intention of attacking countries in the military bloc, yet Western politicians regularly frighten their populations with the alleged Russian threat to divert attention from domestic problems.

About whether he wanted to deliver a warning to Russia not to attack NATO territory, Trump said: “I don’t want to comment on that, but they’re not going to attack.”
CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently met Russian officials in Moscow, with some reports claiming he warned Moscow not to escalate conflict with America’s NATO allies over their support for Ukraine.
Trump was also pressed on whether Washington would “punish” Putin or Russia if Moscow continued doing business with Iran despite US warnings.
