Armenia intends to soon begin the process of applying for European Union membership - Nikol Pashinyan

Armenia intends to soon begin the process of applying for European Union membership, the country's Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, announced.

 The head of government reiterated that holding a referendum makes sense once the debate on the issue reaches a turning point, allowing for the drafting of a roadmap. "And to answer these questions, Armenia must first submit an official application for EU membership. It is a process requiring extensive work, and we will begin it shortly, particularly in response to the call  from our colleagues in the Eurasian Economic Union," he emphasized.

Furthermore, the senior official stated that he advocates for Yerevan's withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization and asserted that he would welcome such a move.

Well, frankly speaking, I find it difficult to understand what it would mean for him to be "pleased" to be expelled; if Yerevan—based on its national interests—no longer needs membership in such an important organization for ensuring regional security, then it is free to make the relevant decision and leave that organization.
