The US military has completed its ninth consecutive night of strikes against Iran, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The command said that CENTCOM assets targeted “Iranian military command centres, air defence and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks”.
CENTCOM noted that the strikes concluded on July 19 at 10 p.m. ET and were conducted “to further diminish Iran’s ability to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz”.

"US Central Command (CENTCOM) successfully completed the ninth consecutive evening of strikes against Iran, July 19, at 10 p.m. ET," CENTCOM said in a post on its X social media page.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says two oil tankers exploded and were halted in the southern Strait of Hormuz late last night, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The IRGC stated that the vessels were attempting to transit through the strategic waterway under what it described as US coercion.
“This passage is unsafe for the transport of chemical fertilizer or even a single drop of oil and gas,” the group warned, adding that the corridor would remain unsafe as long as US military operations in the region continue.
