Iran says safe passage through Hormuz can’t be guaranteed without coordination with Tehran, 3 tankers turned back

Iran’s deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi said safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz could not be guaranteed without coordination with Iran, and that failure to coordinate could result in the suspension of any designated route.

Three foreign tankers attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Tehran’s permission were turned back by the Iranian military, Iranian state television reported.

The tankers tried to traverse the strait via the southern corridor but had to return back to the Persian Gulf after a warning.

Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) said on Thursday that it cannot guarantee safe passage for vessels following routes beyond those authorized by Tehran.

    2. US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the ceasefire with the United States.

He wrote on Truth Social that Iran had launched "at least four One Way Attack Drones at Ships transversing the Strait of Hormuz."

One of these drones, according to Trump, hit a cargo ship. "Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement," Trump said.

      He did not threaten Iran.
