Explosions in Tehran, Isfahan as Israel launches attacks

The IRNA news agency has more details on the attacks in Tehran.

The agency said two explosions were heard in western Tehran at 4:43am and 4:45am local time and that a spokesperson for the city’s fire department has announced that “urban areas were not targeted”.

 The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says that Israel attacked targets “on our soil using air-launched ballistic missiles”.

 The IRNA news agency reports that at least “two powerful explosions” were heard in Tehran and at least three explosions were heard in the city of Isfahan.

    The Channel 12 broadcaster and YNet News say the missile fired from Yemen has been intercepted.

    1. The Israel Defense Forces says it has detected the launch of a missile from Yemen toward Israeli territory.

      Aerial defence systems are "operating to intercept the threat" it said.

      The Times of Israel reports warning sirens are sounding across Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and surrounding parts of central Israel.

      The IDF says following its "situational assessment" people are now "permitted to leave protected spaces in all areas of the country".

  3. Israel says its has struck military targets in western and central Iran.

    "A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force struck military targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime in western and central Iran," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) wrote on Telegram.

    No further details were provided on casualties or the exact location of the strikes.
