Rising US anger over war triggers first major GOP backlash of Trump’s second term

The US president is under increasing pressure: Republicans in Congress are running out of patience; consumers say that this war was not worth fighting.

According to polls, the vast majority of Americans don’t like this war.

The only group that says it was necessary are people who call themselves MAGA Republicans.

The midterms are coming up, phone calls are coming into members of Congress, people are angry, and so the president is facing a real pushback for really the first time in his second term from his own party in Congress.
