A large number of Danish servicemen are expected to arrive in Kangerlussuaq in western Greenland late on Monday, TV2 reported, citing the Danish military.
Chief of the Danish Army Command Peter H. Boysen is also expected to arrive in Greenland. According to the Danish top brass, the deployment of these troops will take place as part of Denmark’s military buildup on the island.
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is not commenting on his readiness to resort to the use of force to seize Greenland.
"No comment," Trump told NBC News, when asked if he would resort to use of force to seize Greenland.
Europe should focus on the conflict in Ukraine and not on Greenland, Trump said, adding that he is 100% determined to impose tariffs on European countries, if Greenland deal is not reached.
