Palestinians in Gaza remain fearful, wary about success of truce deal

The people of Gaza are still caught in a limbo.

Hundreds of thousands of people returning to Gaza City after being forcibly displaced as a result of the Israeli ground operation that has left behind a trail of destruction there.

Those returning say they know they are going back to a destroyed landscape without any humanitarian resources, but they are clinging to their communities, and say they will try to cope despite the shortage of all essential elements for survival.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands more remain in central and south Gaza.

 Israel might ensure the release of its captives, and then later, start evading their commitments to the terms of their agreement.
