Al-Arabiya claims Iran also fired missiles at US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait
Qatar's air defense systems intercepted multiple missiles over the capital Doha on Monday after Iran launched a military operation targeting U.S. forces stationed at Al Udeid Air Base.
Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement that Qatar's defenses "successfully thwarted the attack and shot down the Iranian missiles."
Al-Ansari condemned the strike as "a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, its airspace, international law, and the United Nations Charter." He warned that Qatar reserves the right to respond, while affirming that no injuries or casualties were reported.
He added that the Al Udeid base had been evacuated in advance and that all necessary precautions had been taken to ensure the safety of personnel.

Delete🔹 Le Secrétariat du Conseil suprême de sécurité nationale de la République islamique a annoncé qu'en réponse à « l'action agressive américaine contre les installations nucléaires », les forces armées de la République islamique ont ciblé la base aérienne américaine d'Al-Udeid, au Qatar.
🔹 Selon le communiqué, le nombre de missiles tirés était égal au nombre de bombes utilisées par les États-Unis lors de l'attaque contre les sites nucléaires iraniens dimanche matin.
🔹Les responsables de la République islamique ont souligné que l'endroit ciblé au Qatar était loin des zones urbaines et résidentielles et que cette action « ne représentait aucune menace pour le pays ami et frère du Qatar ».

ReplyDeleteIran has launched a "powerful and destructive" missile attack on the US military base Al-Udeid in Qatar in response to American attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Iranian army said in a statement.
ReplyDeleteIt said that the operation was named "News of Victory" and was carried out by a decision of the Supreme National Security Council and with the participation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian army).
"Under no circumstances will Iran leave unanswered encroachments on its territorial integrity, sovereignty and national security," the statement said.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned the Iranian Ambassador it "opposes escalation".

"We knew they would respond. They had a similar reaction after Soleimani," the official said, recalling the 2020 killing of the IRGC chief by U.S. forces.
He also noted that, according to preliminary data, the missiles fired by Iran on Monday did not reach their targets.
As the CNN source noted, Trump is ready to escalate "if necessary." He is expected to discuss the situation with national security advisers today.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain condemned Iran's attack on Qatar.
