The conflict in Ukraine may take on a European scale owing to the West’s moves, but stopping arms deliveries to Kiev will prevent further escalation, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a briefing.
"As a result of reckless, inflammatory actions of even one or two member states of the European Union and NATO, the Ukraine crisis can absolutely easily go beyond its geographical limits, acquire a completely different scale, and spiral out of control," the diplomat said when asked by Western reporters about the risks of the Ukraine crisis spilling over.
According to Zakharova, "it is necessary to stop supporting [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky’s regime and sending weapons" in order to prevent further escalation.
